The Hoosier Chapter needs your help in many areas. Please get involved!

Conservation Committee

Responsible for setting and overseeing conservation issues for the chapter: setting conservation goals; developing conservation priorities; designing plans and strategies for campaigns; supporting groups throughout the state. Contact Lina Gordy.

Current state conservation issues:

  • Environmental compliance. To compel the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to strategically enforce the law focusing on gross violations and to publish an annual report describing priorities and performance.
  • Hoosier Riverwatch. Training and water-quality monitoring, data collection, and public participation.
  • Sustainable living and organics. Raise awareness about sustainable living and organics.
  • Sewer overflows. Minimize sewer overflows in the state.

Outings Committee

Responsible for planning and leading outings following outings guidelines as set by the Sierra Club. Contact Jane Fuller.

Development Committee

Responsible for setting and overseeing fundraising/membership for the chapter: organizing fundraising events and recruiting members. Contact Shondra Zaborowski.

Political Committee

Identify and support candidates for public office who best represent the goals of the Sierra Club. Contact Lori Hazlett.
