Attend Outdoor Leader Workshop

If youíre a Sierra Club outing leader or want to become one, attend the November Outdoor Leader Workshop. Whether youíre an old hand or have never led before, this workshop is for you. Itís part of the Outdoor Activities Training Program (OATP)--a club-wide training initiative--being offered in the Midwest.

It will be held Nov. 2-4 at YMCA Camp Potawotami in South Milford, Indiana (approximately 35 miles north of Fort Wayne). On Nov. 2, registration and dinner will be held at 6 p.m., with an opening program at 8 p.m. The workshop ends with lunch at 1 p.m. on Nov. 4. Cost is $35 and includes meals and bunk-style dormitories Friday and Saturday nights.

The goals of the workshop are to learn and enhance leadership skills, bring people and programs together to share ideas, to welcome new outdoor leaders, to learn what it takes to lead outings programs, and of course, to have fun.

To learn more about the workshop or to check for available space, go to the training Web site.
